9TH ANNUAL RARE BREEDS POULTRY SHOW

The Tasmanian Rare Breeds Poultry Club is an organisation dedicated to the preservation and promotion of rare breeds of poultry in Tasmania. We'd like to invite you to come along to our latest event and learn a bit about our organisation, its aims, and the beautiful poultry we work to bring together in our August extravaganza.

On the 23rd and 24th of August, we will be hosting our 9th annual rare breed poultry show at the George Harding Pavilion, Devonport Showgrounds, Devonport. Tasmania's largest annual poultry show and its only specialist rare breed show, the Tas Rare Breeds Poultry Weekend is a great day for everyone. Our show regularly attracts exhibitors from across the country and over 450 birds, including some of Australia's rarest types of poultry, will be on display in one place - a rare opportunity to see many of them. Not to mention our New Variety or Breed Section, an outlet for the breeds or colours of the future to make their debut.

The show will officially open at 10:00am on the 23rd of August. Judging is by Michael Holmes of Victoria and Brian Bennet of Tasmania. Lunch on the day will be catered by the Devonport Poultry Club - a two course hot meal (garlic bread + main + dessert) for $12 a head. An after show dinner will be held at 6.00pm that night at Dannebrog Restaurant, RSVP required. Please email us if you wish to come to the dinner.

The show day will be followed by a sale day on the 24th of August, starting at 10.00am. There will be a fee of $2 per bird to sell, a sign for the cage will be provided and from there the vendor will be responsible for the sale of the birds and will deal with the buyers directly.
